Glossary of EQB Site Management Terms.

Administrative Overlay Menu -- When you are logged into the Drupal system and have rights to make changes as an administrator, you will see a menu bar just underneeth the Bookmarks Bar of your web browser.  This Overlay menu contains dropdowns for Home, Dashboard, Content, Structure and several other items.  Hovering the mouse pointer over these items will cause a menu to drop down and display further choices.  If you do not see a menu like this then either you are not logged in, or your account is incorrectly setup and you should contact the help desk for furthur assistance.

Content Managment System -- A way to store and display documents to the public.  A content managment system or CMS allows documents to be sorted and easy to find.  It keeps everything consistant and looking the same across the entire web site.  The EQB web site uses Drupal as its CMS.

Drupal -- The software running this content managment system.

Teaser Text -- The small block of text that encourages the reader to click on the "Continue Reading" link and read the full article or document citation.  This teaser text is automatically generated from a configuruable number of characters at the begining of the Body field in the content.

URL Alias -- The sometimes shortened url for a particular document citation.

Views -- The Drupal CMS system uses something called a view to display the information it contains.  A view is a collection of documents with a similar attribute set.  For instance, the public notices page is a view that displays all files with the Document Type "Notice" set in their record.  Creating a new view is beyond the scope of these help documents.
